I’m Back… And with a Connecticon 2013 report!

Hey everyone,

It has been long… too long. I am alive and well though, and still working hard with everyone else at Senpai Magazine.

We have decided to change things a little bit. The Goal of Senpai Magazine was to share our interests with others as much as possible. Right now, we feel this goal can be best reached by making as much free content as possible.
ImageRight now we are putting out a FREE newsletter called “Chibi Senpai.” Basically, it is our magazine in a very condensed format, delivered regularly to your inbox at absolutely no charge.
Additional details are here:

So what have I been up to lately? Well, still cannot fully grasp Tumblr… It just seems like a collection of very messy blogs. I’ve also been playing a lot of Warframe… too much really. Read more…

And I’m back!

I really do not know where to begin, there is so much to discuss, detail, and dissect from last weekend. I guess I’ll start with how I usually start most of my blogs, by starting with the positive: Read more…

Back from Connecticon 2011!

Hey everyone, I’m back from Connecticon 2011!

I spent much of the con in the Artist Colony, but I did manage to have some fun!

With my buddy Duke (Youtube him under “Duke009”) I got to interview Jon St. John (voice of Duke Nukem) and Carlos Ferro! (voice of Dom in Gears of War saga) The full interviews should be in the Fall Issue, but both men are extremely proud of their gaming roles, and are both A LOT of fun to talk to. This was actually my first interview ever, and needless to say I was a little star-struck meeting both of them.

Yes yes I know I ripped Duke Nukem Forever a new one in my review, and what I said are my honest feelings about the game. However talking about DNF with Mr. St. John really made me think about the game again. Perhaps I was too harsh on it? I would be lying if I said I didn’t have ANY fun playing it afterall. Admittedly, there were a few really cool moments… Perhaps I will make a “Second Opinion” about the game, as I discuss the points that Jon St. John made.

Mr. Ferro also had a unique perspective of the GoW saga and his character that never quite occurred to me. I will describe that all more in detail when I transcribe the interview in the coming issue, and am now even more excited about the third game!

Well I’ll be at Connecticon this weekend! We’ll try to sell some magazines and are going to have a lot of fun!

Sadly I won’t be in cosplay very much. I just simply didn’t have the time/money/energy to do anything. Yes, I could go as a colonial marine, as I have in previous years, but lugging that gear around is a real pain. And it isn’t worth the hassle – Last year I made sure to get my gear checked and tagged as soon as I checked in, but every five minutes I kept getting stopped by security because of the resin orange-tipped pulse rifle. I COMPLETELY understand safety, so much so that I actually broke the one working part on the gun (the ammo counter) since the switch was technically a “moving part” before the con. In hindsight it was a little extreme I guess, and even that extra precaution wasn’t enough to keep security off my tail. Read more…
